Planning and design of new extensions in Athens Metro Lines. Completion - Modification of Technical Specifications, Preliminary design, Preliminary design of the New Depot, Design of the Control Operation Center and General Final Design of the Lines
The new extensions of Metro Lines in Athens include:
- 1A new branch at Line 3, from the metro station PANORMOU to the metro station PARADISOS in Maroussi. This underground design is going to have length of 7.5km and five (5) new intermediate stations while it is designed along and underneath Kifissias Avenue. A further expansion of 1.2 km, with one (1) more station is going to connect this new branch with the existing MAROUSSI station of Line 1 of Electric Railway (ISAP).
- An extension of Line 2, from the metro station ALEXANDROS PANAGOULIS up to the old airport area at ELLINIKO. The extension is 3.5km long, has four (4) new stations and runs along Vouliagmenis Avenue
- A new branch at Line 2, from the metro station PANEPISTIMIO to Eksarxeia, Kypseli and Galatsi, with 6.3km of underground lines and six (6) new stations.
- An extension at Line 3, from metro station EGALEO to electric railway (ISAP) station PIRAEUS (connection with Line 1). The extension is passing through areas of Aghia Varvara, Korydallos and Nikea and has 8.2km of underground lines and six (6) new stations.
- A New Depot in the old airport area of ELLINIKO supporting Metro Line 2. The depot consists of four (4) underground railway tracks, enabling deposition of eight (8) trains and with a total length of 270m.
